Mary Shelley's hideous progeny inspired a generation of science fiction writers, but does it still serve as a warning
in the 21st century?

Luddite history!
I'm fascinated by the Luddites. If you visit the museums in Nottingham and Ruddington, you'll discover what happened during the Luddite revolt... and what happened to the ones who ended up in court, finally being transported to Australia, or executed...
The Luddites sometimes used to meet in the caves underneath Nottingham, to plan their framebreaking:
All of the museums have special events throughout the year plus tours with costumed guides.
